SPORTS MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN KK MARATHON

 Thousands of people this morning took part in the 2026 edition of the Kenneth Kaunda Marathon in Lusaka, as part of activities to remember Zambia’s founding father, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.  The annual event continues to celebrate his legacy of unity, resilience and service to the nation, while promoting healthy living among citizens. Participants from various sectors, including professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, government officials and members of the public, turned up in large numbers, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The marathon featured different race categories, allowing people of all ages and fitness levels to participate. Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Honourable Elvis C. You remember when i brought up your issue to the Vice President, the non payment of allowances for the work you undertook for government, the Veep responded that you will be paid through a supplementary budget. Well on Wednesday the minister of Finance is proposing a supplementary budget and i have just perused through the proposed supplementary budget and i focused myself on the proposed supplementary allocation to the ministry of Home Affairs. I just hope that this ammount proposed here attached is sufficient to cover you as i have not seen the full details of where that money will go. I wish to urge you to start calling out your Minister of Home Affairs and Finance as well as your superiors to ensure that as the Minister presents the supplementary budget you are included, remember i can only do so much to fight for you. FAZ PRESIDENT LEAVES FOR FIFA CONGRESS

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba has led a three-man Zambian delegation to the 76th FIFA Congress in Vancouver, Canada. Mweemba is accompanied by Vice President Mutale Ng’andu and Acting Deputy General Secretary Iva Lengwe. The trio departed Kenneth Kaunda International Airport this afternoon. The 76th FIFA Congress will take place this Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Vancouver Convention Centre, as announced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Paraguay in May 2025. The FIFA Congress will bring together representatives from all 211 member associations. This is the second time Canada is hosting the FIFA Congress. The first was held in Montreal in 1976.
