PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ORDERS FUEL SUPPLY REVIEW

Image
President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed grave concern over the fuel shortages reported across the country in recent days, which is suspected to have arisen from deliberate hoarding by certain entities. The head of state says this situation persists notwithstanding clear assurances provided by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), during his recent meeting at State House, regarding the availability of the commodity. He says while cognisant of prevailing global supply pressures arising from the conflict in the Middle East, the nation currently has adequate fuel stocks to meet domestic demand. The President says fuel remains the lifeblood of the economy and any attempts to manipulate its supply is not only irresponsible but also constitutes economic sabotage and a direct violation of existing laws. The President has since directed the Energy Regulation Board (ERB), in collaboration with relevant law enforcement agencies, to immediately go on the ground to investigate and enforc...

HARRY KALABA ON PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA

Image
It is both troubling and unacceptable that at a time when our nation is confronted with urgent and pressing challenges, the President has chosen to prioritize campaign tours over governance. Leadership is not about optics or movement - it is about responsibility, especially in moments of national strain. Today, citizens are grappling with a looming fuel crisis that threatens livelihoods, disrupts businesses, and undermines economic stability. Queues are growing, supply is uncertain, and anxiety is rising. Yet, instead of addressing this crisis head-on and providing clear, transparent answers, the President is expending national resources flying across the country in early campaign mode. Zambians deserve an explanation: what concrete measures are being taken to avert or resolve this fuel shortage? Equally concerning is the continued deterioration of our telecommunications network. In an era where communication is the backbone of democracy and commerce, the current state of connecti...

KANTANSHI MP SPEAKS OUT ON DIESEL SHORTAGE

Image
27th March, 2026......Kantanshi constituency today is day 27 of the war in the middle east. On 19 and 20th of March,2026 I urged Goverment to ensure that Energy Regulation Board( ERB) polices Oil Marketing Companies( OMC's) to ensure that all fuel stations have adequate stocks and  "No holding" fuel there by creating an artificial fuel shortage, panic amongst motorist's and most importantly avoiding queuing up of vehicles at service  stations especially that we are going into the "election season"! Political pundits will easily take advantage and mislead the masses of our people out there. Energy Minister assured us on the floor of Parliament that those shortages will not happen but informed us of an eminent fuel rise. Today, look at the situation!people have even failed to travel to the Kuomboka ceremony in Western Province because there is No Diesel, worse off, what will happen to those using public transport( Buses) to travel between our provinces for buss...

CHRISPIN CHIINDA TO FOCUS ON EDUCATION WHEN ELECTED MPIN MUNALI

Image
Education is widely regarded as essential in our communities, and many believe it is the key to success. We share this view and will focus on creating a better educational environment in our schools.  Our goal is to have a school in every community, as educated communities are more likely to understand governance. As leaders, it is our duty to ensure that our schools have sufficient desks and classrooms for our learners.  There are certain values that we believe should be instilled in our learners from a young age, such as cleanliness. By teaching these values in schools, learners can have a positive impact on their communities. Similarly, if we want to produce more entrepreneurs and farmers, we need to start by teaching business and agriculture in schools compulsory not as options.  I will work closely with teachers to develop programs that have a lasting impact on learners, so that the skills they acquire in schools can benefit them and their communities throughout thei...

RDA: UPDATE ON MONZE -NIKO ROAD

Image
The existin g crossing at the Bweengwa River was constructed using eleven 1700 mm diameter Armco pipe culverts. These were backfilled with gravel material, which also served as the base layer for a 200 mm thick concrete pavement slab forming the roadway surface. On 21st March 2026 at approximately 20:00 hours, a major structural failure occurred at the crossing. According to eyewitness accounts, the incident happened during peak fish trading activity, when a large number of people had gathered near the site. Witnesses described a sudden surge of water, resembling a wave, which struck the culvert crossing. Water levels rose rapidly, reaching approximately knee height above the concrete slab. Within a short period, a significant section of the slab collapsed. The area had experienced heavy rainfall over the preceding two days, which likely contributed to elevated river flows. Based on site observations and collected information, several factors are believed to have led to the failu...

CF PRESIDENT HARRY KALABA DEMANDS THE RELEASE OF TONSE ALLIANCE PRESIDENT BRIAN MUNDUBILE

Image
Lusaka-Friday, 20th March 2026 We have learnt with shock that Tonse Alliance leader and Mporokoso MP, Hon Brian Mundubile was yesterday removed from the travel manifest, stopped from traveling and detained at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) for hours, before he was later transferred to Ibex Hill Police Station. To begin with, this action by authorities is extremely suspicious. If the Law Enforcement Agencies had an issue or were conducting investigations on Hon. Mundubile, did they need to wait when he was due to travel abroad before they could call him for interrogations? Why didn’t they issue a police call-out for him but chose to stop him from travel and disrupt his travel plans? These occurrences have become a very nasty practice by the authorities where leaders of the Opposition have been interrogated or refused or stopped to travel at the Airport as has happened before to the late President Edgar Lungu, the late FDD Leader, Edith Nawakwi, Socialist Party President, Dr...
