NAPSA AND NATIONAL PROSECUTION AUTHORITY STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP TO PROMOTE SOCIAL SECURITY.

The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) and the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) have reaffirmed their strong partnership in safeguarding social security and justice during a breakfast meeting held in Lusaka.

Speaking at the event, NAPSA Director General expressed gratitude to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for her office’s continued support, noting that the prosecutorial mandate under the National Pension Scheme Act is exercised through delegated authority from the DPP.

He highlighted the establishment of a Fast Track Court for statutory offences at the Lusaka Boma Court as a milestone initiative aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing case backlogs, and ensuring timely justice in matters of social security compliance.

The DPP commended NAPSA’s vigilance in protecting workers’ futures and emphasized that pension-related offences are not mere technical breaches but violations that erode the dignity of labour and livelihoods.

He stressed the importance of decisive enforcement and outlined key areas for deepening collaboration, including early prosecutorial engagement, capacity building, and strategic prosecution to deter violations.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to integrity, fairness, transparency, and accountability. They also praised ongoing capacity-building initiatives, such as the Annual Prosecutors Conference, which continue to strengthen professionalism across the justice system.

The breakfast meeting concluded with a call for continued dialogue and cooperation, ensuring that the partnership between NAPSA and the NPA remains impactful in protecting the integrity of national institutions and safeguarding the livelihoods of citizens.

This is according to a statement issued by NAPSA Head Corporate Affairs Cephas Sinyangwe.
