Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe and his delegation this morning (March 26) met the European Union Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth, Mr Wopke Hoesktra at the EU Headquarters in Brussels ahead of the private sector driven Africa Political Outlook conference.

Mr. Haimbe is in Brussels as a keynote speaker at the 2026 edition of Africa Political Outlook (APO) which has brought together Africa's foremost policy makers, investors and strategic partners to examine the continent's repositioning in a rapidly evolving global order.

The theme of the Africa Political Outlook 2026 Conference is "Forces of the Future," which highlights Africa's transition from aid dependency to sovereign alignment, industrial transformation, financial autonomy and geopolitical agency in a multipolar world.

The invitation of Mr. Haimbe to APO 2026 underscores Zambia's emergence as a forward -looking, reform driven, investment-ready nation; reinforcing its continental voice in shaping Africa's financial and economic sovereignty.

This is according to a statement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Principal Public Relations Officer Eva Chanda.
