WORKS ON MPHAMBA BRIDGE IN LUNDAZI COMMENCE.

The Road Development Agency (RDA) has advised public and all road users that, due to ongoing flash floods, both approaches to the Mphamba Bridge leading to Chief Chitungulu in Lundazi District, Eastern Province have been washed away and consequently, the bridge is impassable and unsafe for all traffic.

RDA Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager Anthony Mulowa says Mphamba Bridge is situated on the Lundazi–Chitungulu Road, approximately 1 kilometre from the Lundazi Central Business District.

Mr. Mulowa has advised motorists and the travelling public intending to use this route to reschedule their travel plans until further notice.

He says the RDA is currently on site and has commenced remedial works to address this emergency.

Mr. Mulowa says a comprehensive statement will be issued later today to provide further updates on the situation.
