ZANACO LAUNCH OF CONNECT STORES IN CHONGWE AND KAOMA.

Zanaco has firmed up its commitment to financial inclusion and innovation with the launch of three new Connect Stores in Serenje, Chongwe and Kaoma to provide convenient access to essential banking services such as deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, and more within the local communities.

These milestones mark a significant step in Zanaco’s mission to bring banking closer to communities across the country and complement existing channels such as branches, Xpress agencies, and partnerships with leading retailers such as Shoprite, Choppies, Pick n Pay, and Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

Zanaco Acting Chief Digital Banking Officer Baruch Chambakata noted that the Connect Stores will go a long way in supporting the districts’ agricultural economy.

“Serenje, Chongwe and Kaoma are one of Zambia’s key farming hubs, and access to reliable financial services is critical for farmers and agribusinesses. The Connect Stores will reduce the need for long-distance travel and empower the community to focus on production and trade,” Mr. Chambakata said.

He also said the Connect store in Kaoma for instance will also serve surrounding districts—Luampa, Lukulu, and Nkeyema, covering a population of over 409,000 people.

With only two other banks operating in Kaoma, the Connect Store will become the face of Zanaco in the region, driving financial inclusion and transactional growth.

Currently, Zanaco boosts over 37,000 agents nationwide. The Connect Store network therefore represents the next chapter in this journey, ensuring that every Zambian has access to the financial tools necessary for growth and prosperity.

This is according to a statement issued by Zanaco Head of Corporate Communications Kyembe Kyalusanza.
