NFC AFRICA EMPLOYEES IN CHAMBISHI IN SALARY INCREMENT
The Mine Workers Union of Zambia (MUZ) wishes to inform its members and the general public that it has successfully concluded negotiations with NFC Africa Mining Plc (NFCA), resulting in a K1,000 across-the-board salary increment for all unionized employees for the year 2026.
MUZ President Joseph Chewe said the agreement was reached on 6th January 2026, in accordance with the Labour and Industrial Relations Act, Cap 269 of the Laws of Zambia, and will apply from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026.
“The Union is pleased to announce that management has agreed to increase salaries by K1,000 across the board for all unionized workers in 2026,” Mr. Chewe said.
Mr. Chewe further stated that the parties also agreed on measures aimed at improving access to healthcare for employees. “We have agreed to engage Health Care provider in Kalulushi to provide medical services to employees in Kalulushi and Chambishi, while workers will continue accessing care at Sinozam Friendship Hospital, which remains the company hospital,” he said.
“The Union also secured an agreement that healthcare provision for employees based in Chingola will be reviewed.”
The agreement also provides for annual leave passage for all employees and the introduction of a retention allowance for professionally qualified employees.
Mr. Chewe said MUZ remains committed to protecting the interests of its members through constructive engagement with employers. “This agreement reflects our continued efforts to improve wages and conditions of service for our members, and we shall remain vigilant in ensuring that all agreed benefits are fully implemented,” he added.
