ZAMBIA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO GLOBAL PEACE AT UN CONTINGENT-OWNED EQUIPMENT WORKING GROUP MEETING IN NEW YORK.
Deputy Zambia Army Commander Major General Luswepo Sinyinza has reaffirmed the nation's unwavering commitment to global peace and security.
Delivering Zambia’s national statement at the 2026 United Nations Contingent-Owned Equipment (COE) Working Group official opening at UN Headquarters, Maj. Gen. Sinyinza underscored Zambia's commitment to peace and security.
The Deputy Army Commander appealed to the Working Group, UN funders, and cooperating partners to seriously review the dynamics of peacekeeping environment.
Major General Sinyinza called for the 2026 COE deliberations to translate into tangible deliverables that support the Action for Peacekeeping Plus (A4P+) agenda, ultimately enhancing the safety and impact of peacekeepers worldwide.
The 2026 COE is critical as it will help shape the financial and operational frameworks for effective peacekeeping operations. Discussions on equipment standards and reimbursement rates are vital as they enable Troop Contributing Countries like Zambia to deploy safely and fulfill complex mandates.
Zambia’s participation aligns with its Foreign Policy of championing multilateralism and peacekeeping missions as cornerstone of global peace and stability.
Maj General Sinyinza was accompanied by Senior Officials from Zambia Army and Ministry of Defence.
