LUNTE MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING DOG MEAT.

Residents of Mukupa Kaoma Village in Chief Mukupa Kaoma’s Chiefdom in Lunte District of Northern Province have caught a 35-year-old man for allegedly selling dog meat.

John Musonda, is alleged to have been selling dog meat, which he claimed was goat meat when in fact not.

Musonda was captured after a woman in the area discovered the alleged scam as she was preparing a meal.

Cynthia Chongo narrated to ZANIS in Lunte that she bought the meat from the man who brought it to her home early in the morning, purporting that it was goat meat.

Lunte District Health Office has confirmed that the meat sold was actually that of a fox and not goat meat.

Lunte District Health Promotions Officer, Brian Sibuluki, has since cautioned people to be vigilant and to avoid buying meat from unauthorised dealers.

The matter has since been reported to the police for further investigations.
