LUSAKA MAYOR HANDS OVER BASKETBALL KIT TO LCC TEAM

 Lusaka Mayor, Ms. Chilando Chitangala, this afternoon handed over sports equipment valued at over Two Hundred Thousand Kwacha (K200,000) to the Lusaka City Council basketball, football and netball teams.


The equipment handed over includes jerseys, balls, nets, shoes and other essential sporting items aimed at enhancing the teams’ performance and preparedness for upcoming competitions.


Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ms. Chitangala underscored the important role that sports play as a catalyst for mental, physical and social development, particularly among young people.


“Sports has a unique power. It teaches discipline, teamwork, resilience and respect as well as values that are essential not only in sport but in all aspects of life,” the Mayor said.


She further encouraged the athletes to remain committed, strive for excellence and use sport as a platform to grow, inspire others and make their communities proud.


Present to receive the equipment were coaches and players from the various sporting disciplines under the Lusaka City Council.
