MORE THAN K19 MILLION OF 2026 CDF TO BE SPENT ON COMMUNITY PROJECTS

 


Government has approved sixteen (16) community projects for implementation using the 2026 Constituency Development Fund CDF in Lumezi this year at a cost of K19,902,581.36

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development through the Provincial Local Government Office has approved the projects pursuant to Cabinet Office Circular Minute Number CMO1 of 2023  and in accordance with Section 4(c) of the Constituency Development Fund Act Number 1 of 2024.

The approved projects are drawn from community submissions made last year following consultative processes in Lumezi Constituency.

Following the approval, the Local Authority's Procurement Unit will now proceed to call for bids from contractors for the construction and supply of materials under the approved projects.

The following are the approved community projects for implementation this year;

1. Construction of a health post and low-cost staff house in Kamwanjiba

2. Rehabilitation of all boreholes in the constituency.

3. Construction of an incinerator and placenta pit at Sikatengwa Health Post.

4. Purchase of furniture for Lumezi Police Station and Kateme Police Post which are both under construction.

5. Completion of a 1x3 Classroom Block at Mpingozi Day Secondary School.

6. Construction of a footbridge at Chatemwa.

7. Procurement of desks for all wards.

8. Furnishing of Health Posts namely; Kavinaka, Chiweza, Mpheluke, Chasera and Mbuzi Health Posts.

9. Insurance, Spares and purchase of lubricants.

10. Installation and procurement of 900mm culverts to be used on the recently graded Mwanya Road.

11. Hire of lowbed, water Bowser and other road maintenance equipment.

12. Fencing of the valley area prone to human-wildlife conflict.

13. Construction and development of a 2 megawatts + 4mwh bess solar PV plant.

14. Solid waste management

15. Purchase of motorbikes for the Department of Fisheries and Livestock as well as the Department of Agriculture Services.

16. Joint contribution towards construction of a Mother's Dormitory, Ablution Block and Cooking Shelter at Chipata Central Hospital.
