TOURISM MINISTER IN AMERICA FOR HUNTERS CONVENTION
Minister of Tourism, Rodney Sikumba, has arrived in Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America, to participate in the Safari Club International (SCI) 54th Annual Hunters’ Convention, taking place from 18-21 February 2026.
The Honourable Minister and his delegation were received upon arrival by Zambia’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Chibamba Kanyama.
On the margins of the Convention, the Honourable Minister is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral engagements with international conservation partners, tourism industry leaders, and wildlife management institutions.
These engagements will focus on promoting Zambia’s tourism and wildlife sectors, strengthening strategic international partnerships, and advancing sustainable conservation and wildlife management frameworks.
During the Convention, the Minister will receive the prestigious Safari Club International 2026 International Legislator of the Year Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and significant contribution to the advancement of sustainable wildlife conservation policies in Zambia and across the African continent.
Zambia’s participation in the Convention underscores the Government’s continued commitment to positioning the country as a premier global tourism destination and a responsible steward of its wildlife heritage. The Convention further provides a strategic platform to enhance Zambia’s international visibility, attract investment into the tourism and wildlife sectors and reinforce the country’s leadership in sustainable conservation practices.
