ELISHA MATAMBO NOT HAPPY WITH NDOLA-SAKANYA ROAD

Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo has expressed disappointment on the newly constructed  Ndola-Sakania road in Ndola District.

Mr. Matambo said after touring this road, thet have recommended the affected stretch to be re-done.

He said "We emphasized that our Republican President, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, always emphasizes on  three principles: right cost, delivering the project on time, and quality work. We stated that even if it's a private partnership (PPP) project, it is a government project and a road for the people. It is supposed to stand the test of time. It is unacceptable to have patches on a brand new road. "Chimo nokutugonga" in our Kopala language - "This is the same as cheating us."

He  partly blamed the Road Development Agency (RDA) for lack of supervision on this road.

Me. Matambo said RDA is there to supervise; and cannot have patches on a brand new road.

"We stressed that our job as Copperbelt Provincial Administration is to ensure that all the projects done by line ministries are properly done and to the expectations of our citizens. Our Republican President, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, has worked so hard, and he has revamped various sectors of the economy aimed at improving the lives of our people on the Copperbelt and beyond." he said

Ndola - Sakania- Mufulira Road is a PPP project being carried out by concessionair Jaswin ports Limited.
