MORE MOURN CHALI BRAVO

We join the music fraternity in mourning one of Zambia’s finest music producers, a true creative force whose passion and humility shaped many dreams.

We knew Chali in the early days of Africa Directions, when we were building what has become a strong platform for shaping and nurturing the confidence of young people across Zambia. At the time, he was working tirelessly to solidify his music production house, and our paths aligned through a shared commitment to empowering youth.

Through our collaboration, many young people from Mtendere were given a rare opportunity to step into a professional studio environment, record their music, and believe in their talent. Some went on to hit the airwaves, while others may not have reached stardom but all of them were given a chance. And that chance mattered.

Chali was more than a producer; he was a mentor with a generous heart. Once he understood the mission and objectives of Africa Directions, he willingly reduced his studio fees by half for the young people we brought from the organization. That was the kind of man he was humble, supportive, and committed to lifting others.

Hearing of his passing immediately reminded us of some of the powerful works he did with us and helped bring to life, including:

Chibebelo Chandetela – Late Kasman

Tukadoli – Kelvin & Mateo

Nalila – Shawn Majoro

We also produced a compilation featuring these songs alongside other talented artists such as the late Jack Chips, Nel T, the late CKZ, Eazy Cool, Kili and SPJ’s, among others. These works remain part of the legacy he helped build. (Mtenderians can add others I may have forgotten)

Zambia has lost a rare gem, a quiet giant whose fingerprints are embedded in the growth of many young artists.

Go well, my brother Chali Bravo Mulalami Your sound, your kindness, and your impact will not be forgotten.
