TOPSTAR COMMISSIONS SOLAR BACK UP SOLUTION IN KALOKO IN NDOLA
Ministry of Information and Media Thabo Kawana today witnessed the commissioning of TopStar's Solar Power back-up solution at Kaloko Hill Transmission Site in Ndola.
Mr. Kawana is thrilled to see the positive impact it will have on the local population.
He said this milestone aligns with Government's goals to promote innovation and technological advancement in the ICT sector, ultimately contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
He said "We support innovative solutions driving economic development and business expansion, recognising the crucial role the private sector plays in Zambia's growth and development agenda."
He said TopStar's initiative addresses power challenges, ensuring a stable signal for Ndola, Luanshya and surrounding areas, thereby enhancing access to information, education and entertainment.
The PS said this project resonates with government energy diversification policy and renewable energy goals, aimed at increasing the country's energy capacity and ensuring energy security through sustainable means.
Mr. Kawana said "Our revised energy policy aims for universal access by 2030 through private sector participation, emphasizing the need for collaboration between government and private entities."
He has commended TopStar's efforts in renewable energy since 2018, supporting over 20,000 households and demonstrating their commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
He is confident of a stable signal for subscribers in Ndola and Luanshya, ensuring uninterrupted access to information and entertainment.
Mr. Kawana has urged TopStar to continue innovating and delivering quality service, touching lives through affordable digital TV, as we encourage continued improvement in service delivery to meet the evolving needs of Zambian citizens.
"As we commend TopStar's efforts, we urge mobile phone providers to emulate their investment in renewable energy and improved service delivery, enhancing access to information and communication nationwide." He added.
