MAKEBI ZULU WAS VALIDLY ELECTED-DR. NGAMBI

 


 

Thursday-2nd April 2026-Patriotic Front Chairperson for Elections and Member of the Central Committee, Dr. Frank Ngambi has disclosed that the Independent Electoral Commission that held a General Conference has settled the dispute that saw the election of Lusaka lawyer Makebi Zulu as President.

 

Dr. Ngambi stated that following the election of Makebi Zulu, some of his contenders namely; Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, Given Lubinda, Dr. Chishimba Kambwili and Greyford Monde disputed the election results by signing a joint petition against the announced results citing general malpractice in the conduct of the election.

 

Dr. Ngambi stated that only Eng. Chanda Katotobwe did not formally object to the outcome of the election.

 

Dr. Ngambi stated that following the dispute, the Electoral Commission team collected all the serialized ballots cast and the Gen 20 that was prescribed  from across the country and the documents were subjected to verification and fresh tallying.

 

They also pursued complaints of alleged malpractice related to the process.

 

He said he was glad to announce they the Electoral Commission was satisfied that the announced results matched exactly with the documents received and as earlier announced and the process met the criteria and controls set by the Independent Electoral Commission.

 

He stated that it was no longer in dispute that Hon. Makebi Zulu was validly elected as President of the Party.

 

He also disclosed that he had since informed the petitioners of the final determination of the Electoral Commission and that the documents were available for inspection.

 

On Saturday March 21st, 2026, the Patriotic Front under the leadership of Acting President Hon. Given Lubinda held a General Conference that saw Makebi Zulu elected as winner of the heavily contested process.

 

This is according to a statement issued by PF Chairperson of Information and Publicity and Member of the Central Committee Emmanuel Mwamba.

  Zambia’s 2025 national examinations saw improved pass rates and higher female participation, the government announced today, with results released ahead of the January school reopening.   Minister of Education Douglas Munsaka Syakalima, MP, officially disclosed the outcomes of the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) and Junior Secondary School Leaving Examination (JSSLE).   A total of 538,824 candidates sat the 2025 PSLE, achieving a pass rate of 71.36%. Female participation was 52.76%, and absenteeism fell to 8.26%. For the JSSLE, 285,634 candidates were examined, resulting in a 16.36% increase in certificate awards over the previous year. FRED M’MEMBE TO STAND ON PEOPLE’S PACT IN 2026.

  The People's Pact has today (December 31, 2025) unveiled Socialist Party President Dr. Fred M'membe as its presidential candidate ahead of the 2026 general elections. EFF STAGES A PROTEST AT FRA HQ

  The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has strongly condemned the lies and deception being peddled by the Hakainde Hichilema administration regarding the seven-month delayed payment of farmers who sold their maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA). EFF Leader Kasonde Mwenda says contrary to government claims, thousands of farmers across Zambia remain unpaid.  "Our party has verified this situation on the ground: farmers are sleeping outside banks, queuing in the rain, begging for their own money — money the government owes them" Mwenda lamented  He says instead of taking responsibility, the UPND government has chosen to lie to the nation.
