METRO ADVERTISING LIMITED HAS INSTITUTED CONTEMPT OF COURT PROCEEDINGS AGAINST THE LUSAKA CITY COUNCIL.

Metro Advertising Limited has instituted Contempt of Court Proceedings against the Lusaka City Council Town Clerk for breaching the Court order.

In a letter dated April 2, 2026, the Agency said the Town Clerk has failed to abide by the directive, guidance of their ministry led process, as well as basic law and order.

The Agency also accused Councilors, including the Chairman of the Legal Sub Committee of the Council at Manda Hill mall in Lusaka, of making corrupt advances where they told the Agency to make a down payment of K150,000 to have their contract renewed.

They disclosed that they have a clear audio recording of the interaction soliciting payment as evidence.

The plaintiffs stated that despite a Court order restraining the council from interfering with the Agency, the council has continued to act in defiance of ministerial directives, amid ongoing corruption concerns regarding the Manda Hill footbridge.

In 2024, the Court restrained the Lusaka City Council from preventing/stopping the Agency from enjoying it's advertising rights at the Manda Hill Foot Bridge.

The plaintiffs have since asked the Council to stop interfering as per Court order.
