PeP Presidential candidate says Hard work must pay

  Lusaka - May 1, 2026 PeP presidential candidate Eng. Chanda Katotobwe has delivered a sharp Labour Day message, calling for urgent action on jobs, wages, and pensions. Speaking directly to young people, Katotobwe said many have done everything right but still find no opportunities. “Jobs are scarce. Opportunities are limited. And for those trying to start a business, high lending rates are crushing their dreams,” he said. He also backed workers across the country, calling for better pay and conditions. “You keep this country moving. You deserve more than survival. You deserve dignity,” he said. To pensioners, his message was clear: “After a lifetime of service, you deserve to be paid on time and live with security.” Katotobwe said Labour Day must go beyond celebration and lead to real change. “Hard work must pay.
