Catholic Men’s Organisation Vice Chairperson Mourns Emeritus Mpundu.

Catholic Men’s Organisation Vice Chairperson Mark Chilongu says it is with deep sorrow and profound sadness, that he joins fellow Catholic faithfuls in Zambia and the wider Christian family in mourning the passing of His Grace, Archbishop Emeritus Telesphore George Mpundu.

Chilongu says a shepherd of courage, wisdom, humility and unwavering faith, Archbishop Mpundu dedicated his life to the service of God, the Church and humanity.

Chilongu says the late Archbishop Emeritus Mpundu  stood firmly for truth, justice, peace and the dignity of every person, becoming a prophetic voice not only for the Catholic faithful but for the nation at large.

He says “As Scripture reminds us: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)”

Chilongu says indeed, Archbishop Mpundu fought the good fight with grace and conviction and his legacy of servant leadership, compassion for the poor, and commitment to righteousness will continue to inspire generations to come.

“Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the promise of Christ:Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord. (Matthew 25:23)”

May the Lord receive His faithful servant into eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

He concludes “To the Catholic Church, the clergy, religious and the entire Mpundu family, I extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers during this difficult time”.
