Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts   Permanent Secretary Mr. Kangwa Chileshe  has called for intensified anti-doping education to promote clean and fair sport in Zambia.

Speaking during the opening of the UNESCO Fund for Elimination of Doping in Sport Trainer of Trainers’ Workshop, Mr. Chileshe described the workshop as an important step in strengthening the fight against doping.

“We meet today not just to talk about rules and banned substances in sport, but to build a strong foundation for clean sport,” he said.

Mr. Chileshe noted that doping threatens athletes’ health and undermines the values of fair play and sportsmanship, stressing that education remains the best way to prevent the vice.

“This training will enable each one of you to become front liners in the fight against doping. Your role is to transform knowledge into action, ensuring that athletes, coaches, and support personnel understand that doping is not just a violation of rules, but a violation of the spirit of sport.”

He urged a united effort with UNESCO, the World Anti- Doping Agency (WADA), and regional bodies to channel  resources in the fight against this vice.

The workshop has brought together anti-doping trainers, Ministry officials, representatives from the Drug Enforcement Commission, and trainees from selected provinces across the country.
