Hope Affirmation Network Zambia Congratulates Wom n Leaders.
Lusaka, May 16
As the 13th National Assembly stands dissolved yesterday, Hope Affirmation Network Zambia (HANZ) has congratulated the women who served with distinction in Parliament and helped shape the laws that govern our nation.
HANZ Executive Director Nakiwe Simpungwe has also saluted the Speaker of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti and the Vice President, Mutale Nalumango and all female Members of Parliament who served in the 13th National Assembly.
She says their presence at the table of decision-making broke barriers, challenged norms, and ensured that the voices of women, children, and families were heard in the laws of Zambia.
Mrs. Simpungwe says their contributions to landmark legislation, including the Free Education Act and Making rape, incest and defilement non bailable reflect what is possible when women lead with courage, knowledge, and commitment to public service.
She says HANZ holds the hope and expectation that the next National Assembly will see even greater numbers of formidable women stepping forward to participate in shaping policy and directing the future of our nation.
Mrs. Simpungwe says Zambian women are not bystanders in national development, but mothers, educators, entrepreneurs, and community builders.
She has called on women across Zambia not to shy away from the table of decision-making, saying they should stand as fearless defenders of justice, serve with confidence, and lead with integrity.
Mrs. Simpungwe says HANZ remains committed to supporting the political participation of women and girls through civic education, mentorship, and advocacy, adding that the strength of Zambia’s democracy depends on inclusive representation.
